About

Welcome to the Spa Valley Railway, which offers a wonderful steam train journey through the High Weald countryside where you can explore all the unique destinations at every station with your family and friends.   Special events take place throughout the year including family and children’s events.  A range of dining train options are also available to book on the railway’s website including, Cream Teas,  Afternoon Tea, The Kent Gin Train and Murder Mystery events.

Enjoy a picturesque five-mile train ride through the Kent and Sussex countryside.  The steam and heritage diesel trains stop at Tunbridge Wells West, High Rocks (check the High Rocks Inn website for their opening days) Groombridge and Eridge Stations.

The historic medieval village of Groombridge has two pubs and a delightful free children’s playground which is a very short walk from Groombridge Station.  When alighting at Tunbridge Wells West station you can choose to walk round the lovely Spa town of Tunbridge Wells as the railway station is just round the corner from the historic Pantiles with its cafes, pubs, galleries and shops.  The Tunbridge Wells Common is also just 2 minutes’ walk away and perfect for a walk at any time of year along the pathways which crisscross the pretty common.  Eridge station also has superb woodland walks nearby and Wildwood Vineyard and the Huntsman Pub are also close by.

Trains operate on either a Red, Blue or Green timetable and whole-line tickets allow unlimited travel and breaks of journey on the day of issue to allow passengers to enjoy exploring each station and the attractions nearby.

The railway is wheelchair friendly, and most trains are equipped with ramps to permit ease of access for visitors with reduced mobility. There is step free access at Eridge station with access from the car park. If these facilities are essential to you, please do check before travelling. Buggies, prams, bicycles and dogs are all welcome and carried free of charge!
