Pekes is a small private peaceful estate in Chiddingly, near Hailsham, just 50 miles from London, completely surrounded by ancient woodland and beautiful organic farmland. It offers both self-catering breaks and holidays and is a fully-equipped venue for Weddings and Celebrations. Pekes is centred on its historic pre-Tudor Wealden Manor House, with 3 other houses which in total can sleep up to 44 people. Guests are able to hire individual houses or the whole estate for complete exclusivity. The houses are surrounded by large beautifully maintained gardens, and has a large Park.

Facilities at Pekes include a heated indoor Swimming Pool, and Jacuzzi/Sauna, children’s play area and a hard tennis court. All of these are open 24/7/365. There are many local footpaths, and you can walk away from Pekes straight into the Wealden countryside on a bridleway. The village has 2 pubs, The excellent Gun Brewery is in sight and has a good taproom and things to eat, there are many other local pubs, and further off many things to do and see – the Seven Sisters, the coast and the sea, Eastbourne is 10 miles, as also is Lewes, and Brighton is 16 miles.

Pekes Manor House, which sleeps up to 20 people, has 2 kitchens with an Aga, a large panelled Dining Room, sitting room, 9 bedrooms on 2 floors, and a very large garden for Celebrations. There is also a Ceremonies Lawn with a lovely Gazebo.

The Edwardian Wing sleeps up to 6 people

The Oast House sleeps up to 12 people, and features a large and pleasant kitchen, a circular sitting room and a circular dining room

Tudor View, a bungalow near the Manor House, sleep up to 7 people, and has wonderful views across the unspoilt Wealden landscape.

All Pekes houses are fully equipped with colour TVs, DVD players, music centres, full central heating, washing machines, tumble dryers, fridge/freezers, microwave ovens and dishwashers.

Children and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Pekes is open all year round.
