Streets of Wealden returns for another year with a variety of artists and performances, coming to a high street near you throughout March, April and May!

Streets of Wealden is a free festival which engages passersby and street theatre enthusiasts on the high street of selected towns with fun and whimsical performers. Locations include the high streets of Polegate, Crowborough, Heathfield, Hailsham, and Uckfield. There is no need to pre-book, these events are being delivered by fantastic local events company, 18 Hours.

Join us along Polegate Highstreet on Friday 28th March, 2pm-5pm to be thoroughly entertained by the likes of... 

  • Xena Flame -  Hula Hoop performance and workshop: Xena, a professional hula hoop artist, will perform a short but exhilarating show, and will be teaching some wonderful easy to learn hula hooping tricks. 
  • UK African Acrobats - Acrobatic performance: These sizzling acrobats bring their dazzling skills to the streets of Polegate.
  • Circo Rum Ba Ba - Bats & Bugs interactive characters: Breathtaking Flying Fox Bats on stilts lead their Bat Keeper through town. Two lime green, horned bugs, delight the audience as they creep and scuttle, chirping eerily. 
  • The Flying Buttresses -  Hodman & Sally interactive characters: Naive puppets Hodman and Sally embark on global adventures, sharing tales and charming children with their huge backpacks.
