About

Streets of Wealden returns for another year with a variety of artists and performances, coming to a high street near you throughout March, April and May!

Streets of Wealden is a free festival which engages passersby and street theatre enthusiasts on the high street of selected towns with fun and whimsical performers. Locations include the high streets of Polegate, Crowborough, Heathfield, Hailsham, and Uckfield. There is no need to pre-book, these events are being delivered by fantastic local events company, 18 Hours.

Join us along Uckfield Highstreet on Saturday 24th May, 11:30-2:30pm to be thoroughly entertained by the likes of...

  • The Two Men – Paparazzi: These short-sighted celebrity crazed photographers are always on the lookout for a good photo opportunity of someone rich and famous going about their daily lives… but who will they spot?
  • Circii – The Pigeons: Two lovebirds follow each other around flapping and cooing. Children love chasing them. Keep an eye on your belongings – and don’t feed the Pigeons!
  • An Act Above – Norvil and Josephine: The classic notion of Vaudeville magic is turned on its head in a show full of comical twists and turns. Dazzling comedy magic with sass and a giant top hat.
  • Circo Rum Ba Ba – The Whizzers: These small, unpredictable sprites perform fast gliding dances.
  • Inside Out Theatre with Active Arts.
  • Lily Fortune - Stilt walker.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Arts Council England
